Next up in our ‘Getting to Know You’ series, are 1 of our saviours of last years stage, the wonderful Invicta Ukulele Band

This wonderful group of Ukulele and Banjo-Ukulele players, come together twice a month to meet new friends, play their instruments and have some fun.

A few things about the Ukulele Club are below….are you ready?

“We cater for all skill levels from the novice up to the more accomplished player and during our evenings we have breakaway sessions to coach and develop the skills you already have. We often have guest speakers come along and provide interesting talks on all aspects of the “mighty uke” including its music and players. These sometimes include instruction from professional Luther’s who will talk us through the designing, building and maintenance of your instrument to voice/singing and various performing arts coaching for the budding George Formby’s amongst us.

Who can come along?
Everybody’s welcome! We always encourage wives, husbands, partners, lovers, friends, family, work colleagues etc to come along and join us and there is always a spare Uke knocking around should you need it. If you have a Uke sitting in a cupboard or up in the loft somewhere and you have always fancied being able to play it then give us a try. You will have a great time and learn a new skill that will impress and entertain your friends and family for years to come.

What type of music do we play ?
We play a huge range to suit all tastes. Please remember our emphasis is on playing, having a sing song and a having fun with a little gentle encouragement but no pressure. And if you play a dodgy note or two or three that’s fine too.

Anything else?
We love to show off our playing skills and The Invicta Ukulele Club Band run by Brian is available to perform at your social or charity event, birthday party or wedding etc and can provide a repertoire of music for all tastes whilst dressed in traditional “lively” waistcoats etc”

These guys are fantastic and we are so chuffed they can join us again for 2019!
