The festival is pleased to welcome Cold Shots to our Saturday line up! No strangers to Festival in the Park, the band will be sharing their mix of Indie/Rock covers with you and will surely get you moving. The 5 accomplished musicians have performed at the festival before, and we are glad they are back to entertain this year..

I caught up with the band and threw a few questions their way about their music and the festival..

Have Cold Shot’s played Festival in The Park previously? If so what is special about it? If not, what are you looking forward to?

We first played AFITP July 2008, then again in 2010 so this will be our third visit. Local live music event and musicians makes it special and for all that attend with a friendly atmosphere for all to relax have fun and enjoy.

For people that have not had the pleasure of seeing Cold Shot’s perform, what can people expect from your set?

We play a mixed range of covers from Maroon5 to Yes!

Tell us a bit more about the band? What are your musical influences?

Wide range of influences from many decades and genres from rock/Indie/Classic

The festival’s ethos is to nurture and promote local performing arts in many forms. How important is it that children are exposed to live, local music and the arts?

Well that’s where we all start form a young age watching and listening to many forms of music performers, bands and the like and influencing the way young aspiring musicians shape their musical skill sets, so it is important that it is a family event for part or most of the days performances.

Finally….This is the Festivals 11th year! As a local band do you feel it is important to have this kind of event available to our local community?

It is important, together with ‘Create’ festival which has been also part of the free music scene since 1996! Keep music live and long may it continue.
